Males exhibit bright yellow and red bodies, accented with blue, brown, and white markings. Females generally have more subdued coloration, and males intensify their colours during courtship. A 200-litre or larger aquarium, whether fish-only or reef, with shaded areas is recommended. These wrasses do not bother other fish or invertebrates, making them ideal for a reef aquarium. Since they are known to jump, a tight-fitting canopy is necessary. The Multicoloured Lubbock's Fairy Wrasse diet should consist of vitamin-enriched frozen mysis shrimp, frozen brine shrimp, and other meaty foods, along with high-quality marine flakes and pellets.
