This species is beautifully coloured, with shades of red, orange, yellow, and a striking blue cap covering the nose and head. Both males and females share similar colours, but during courtship, the male exhibits an intensified colour display. The coloration of this fish can vary depending on its mood. This wrasse is a peaceful, active species that thrives in reef or fish-only aquariums of 340 litres or larger. It does not harm corals or invertebrates, making it ideal for reef setups. A single male can coexist with multiple females if introduced at the same time or before the male. Since these wrasses are known to jump, a tight-fitting lid is recommended to prevent escape. The diet of the Laboutei Fairy Wrasse should consist of vitamin-enriched frozen mysis shrimp, frozen brine shrimp, and other meaty foods. They will also accept high-quality marine flake and pellet food.
