Its light-coloured face is speckled on the lower half, giving it a striking appearance. Known for being hardy, the Foxface is an excellent choice for newly established aquariums. It requires a minimum of a 450-litre aquarium and is generally peaceful, although it may become territorial if housed with other rabbitfish. Despite its peaceful nature, it can live alongside more aggressive fish, as predators tend to avoid it due to its venomous dorsal spines. The Foxface's diet consists of fresh vegetables and various types of algae. While generally reef-safe when well-fed, it may nip at some LPS and soft coral polyps if hungry.
