Size: 7.6 cm Family: Grammidae Minimum Tank Size: 100 litres Overview: The Macneill's Assessor Basslet, also known as MacNeill's Mini Grouper or Blue Assessor Basslet, is a striking fish with a rich, dusky dark blue coloration. Its vibrant hue and hardy nature make it an excellent addition to reef aquariums. For a single Blue Assessor, a tank of at least 100 liters is recommended, with larger tanks preferred if keeping multiple individuals. Ensure the aquarium is equipped with plenty of rock caves for hiding. Due to its semi-aggressive and territorial behavior, it is best to keep only one male in the tank. As a carnivore, the Blue Assessor thrives on a diet of meaty foods. Feed it a variety of finely chopped fresh or frozen marine fish, squid, mysis shrimp, vitamin-enriched brine shrimp, and frozen carnivore preparations. Aim to feed at least twice a day to maintain its health and vibrancy.
