Dissolved organics, odours, and yellowing water are common issues in even well-maintained reef tanks, and standard mechanical and biological filtration doesn't remove them. Granular Carbon from Reef Pure RO is activated carbon media designed to polish your water by adsorbing these dissolved organic compounds, helping keep water genuinely clear and odour-free.
It's a simple, well-established piece of chemical filtration that pairs easily with an existing filter, sump or reactor.

Setup & tips
- Rinse thoroughly before use to remove carbon dust that can otherwise cloud the water
- Run in a media bag or reactor with reasonable flow through the media for best results
- Replace regularly, since exhausted carbon stops adsorbing but can still look physically fine
- Avoid using excessive amounts at once in an established tank, as a sudden large dose of fresh carbon can strip too much colour from the water too quickly
