Overview

A calibrated pH or ORP probe left exposed to direct splash and spray tends to drift and foul faster than it should, throwing off readings you're relying on for accurate dosing or monitoring. The Electrode Protection EP-40 from SeaTorch is a purpose-built housing that shields your electrode from direct water contact while still keeping it in genuine contact with tank water for accurate readings.

Its extended tube design specifically stops water rushing directly onto the electrode, reducing wear and fouling over time.

Key features
  • Protects the electrode from direct water flow while maintaining accurate readings
  • Extended red tube design prevents water from rushing straight onto the probe
  • Flexible disassembly for easy cleaning and maintenance
  • Fits any probe size from 10–14mm
Who it's for

Anyone running a pH, ORP or similar probe in a sump or reactor setup who wants to protect it from direct flow and extend its accuracy and service life between calibrations.

Setup & tips
  • Mount in a low-flow area of the sump rather than directly in a strong return stream
  • Disassemble and clean periodically to clear any biofilm or salt build-up that can affect probe accuracy
  • Check probe calibration regularly regardless of how well it's protected — protection reduces fouling but doesn't replace calibration
  • Confirm your probe diameter falls within the 10–14mm range before purchase
