Overview

Most UV sterilisers lose a chunk of their effectiveness simply because the water only gets irradiated from one side. The Eheim Reeflex 2000 UV Sterilizer 24w tackles this with a built-in reflector that bounces UV-C light back through the water from multiple angles, delivering roughly 1.8 times the effectiveness of a conventional single-pass UV unit at the same power draw.

It's the largest model in Eheim's Reeflex range, built for bigger systems that need serious UV throughput without a matching jump in running costs.

Key features
  • 24W UV-C lamp with internal high-gloss aluminium reflector for significantly increased sterilisation efficiency
  • Direct water flow path with no complicated internal redirection, so there's no unnecessary loss of performance
  • Auto-off safety cut-off engages automatically if the unit is opened, protecting against UV-C exposure
  • Flexible installation with no fixed mounting position or flow direction required
  • Rated for aquariums up to 2,000 litres depending on flow rate and turbidity vs pathogen-reduction targets
What's in the box
  • Eheim UV-C lamp
  • Fixing bracket
  • Ballast with power cable
  • Hose connection taps (ø12/16mm and ø16/22mm, two of each)
Who it's for

Suited to larger reef systems needing serious, ongoing control of free-floating algae, bacteria and other microorganisms — particularly useful alongside heavier bioloads or in systems prone to recurring turbidity.

Setup & tips
  • Run it in conjunction with your existing filtration rather than as a standalone unit, since it's designed to support the filter, not replace it
  • Match your flow rate to the unit's rated range for the balance of pathogen reduction versus turbidity control you're after
  • Replace the UV-C lamp annually, since output drops well before the lamp visibly dims
  • Always disconnect power before opening the unit for lamp replacement or maintenance
