Overview

UV sterilisers keep working long after the bulb has actually stopped doing its job — a UV lamp loses most of its effective output well before it dims to the eye, silently letting algae and pathogens back through. The Creator 18w UV Bulb is a genuine replacement lamp for 18W UV clarifiers and sterilisers, bringing your unit back to full strength.

If you've noticed green water creeping back or your fish seeming more prone to minor infections, a tired UV bulb is often the reason.

Key features
  • 18W UV-C replacement lamp suited to most 18W UV clarifiers and sterilisers
  • Restores full UV output for effective algae and pathogen control
  • Genuine replacement part built to the correct specification for compatible units
Who it's for

Anyone running an 18W UV steriliser or clarifier who's due for their annual bulb replacement, or noticing reduced clarity and increased algae despite good filtration.

Setup & tips
  • Replace the bulb roughly once a year, even if it still appears to be glowing normally — UV-C output drops off well before the visible light does
  • Change the quartz sleeve at the same time if it's cloudy or coated with mineral deposits, as this also blocks UV transmission
  • Handle the new bulb by its base, avoiding contact with the glass, to prevent oils from shortening its lifespan
  • Turn off and unplug the unit before replacing the lamp
