Plumbing

CADE Reef S3/P System Overview

Tank

The CADE Reef S3/P is a Euro-braced, extra-wide rimless tank made from ultra-clear Opti-Clear glass with precision German Wacker silicone and a laser-etched logo for authenticity. The Eurobrace is complimented with Polycarbonate lids and provision for light mounts have been made in the bracing.  The wide-body footprint enhances Aquascaping depth and coral growth visibility from all angles. The slimline glass weir features triple-level intakes (surface, mid, low) for superior debris capture and emergency backup, with a glass channel to guide water efficiently to drainage. Dual drainpipes (main + emergency) ensure silent operation, with tank-side plumbing pre-installed via a base plate system for effortless screw-fit setup. A white laminated base suits bare-bottom or shallow sand beds.

Cabinet

Purpose-built and 900mm tall, CADE S3/P cabinets arrive pre-assembled with sump installed, just place the tank and connect plumbing. Built from 100% waterproof, corrosion-resistant materials with concealed magnetic door latches and a powder-coated finish for durability. Features include dedicated controller panel doors with internal cable boxes, dual power boards with switches, and integrated cable routing. Large dry, ventilated zones support chillers, dosing vessels, and storage, with built-in feed taps for chillers or calcium reactors. Includes a storage shelf, tank mat, and caster feet for levelling.

Filtration

The S3/P sump uses a raceway-style flow layout to eliminate dead zones and maximise space. It replaces filter socks with an open chamber ready for most roller mat filters and includes a Triton Algae Tray for advanced nutrient export. Water progresses through skimmer/reactor chambers, then to media baskets in the biological chamber—providing optimal contact time and reducing the need for separate reactors. Baskets are removable for easy maintenance. The return chamber fits high-flow pumps, and an integrated ATO reservoir is included (ATO device not supplied).

Plumbing

CADE’s S3/P plumbing uses pre-installed, screw-fit Sanking Flowcolour pipes connected via a tank base plate system for fast setup. The system includes a 40mm main siphon drain with fine-tune gate valve and a 40mm emergency drain. Return flow runs through a 32mm pipe that splits into two 25mm returns with non-return valves, neatly hidden in the weir. Additional feed taps allow water redirection to chillers or reactors, compatible with both hard plumbing and 17mm barbed hose fittings (supplied unglued). Designed for quiet, efficient operation.
