Overview

Reef tanks are prone to a slow, steady pH drop overnight, largely driven by CO2 building up in the air around the tank and the water itself. A CO2 scrubber tackles this at the source, stripping CO2 out of the air feeding your skimmer before it ever reaches the water, helping stabilise pH and keep it closer to natural seawater levels.

It's a simple, low-maintenance addition that pairs with your existing skimmer rather than replacing anything.

Key features
  • Removes CO2 from the air drawn into your protein skimmer, reducing the CO2 dissolving into your tank water
  • Helps stabilise pH and can meaningfully raise average pH over time
  • Reduces the day/night pH swing many reef tanks experience
  • Simple, low-maintenance design - just connects to your skimmer's air intake
Who it's for

Reef keepers dealing with persistently low or swingy pH, particularly in tightly sealed homes or rooms with limited air exchange, or anyone running a calcium reactor that tends to depress pH further.

Setup & tips
  • Connect the scrubber to your skimmer's air intake so only CO2-reduced air is drawn in
  • Use colour-changing scrubbing media so you can see at a glance when it needs replacing
  • Check pH regularly for the first couple of weeks to understand how much lift you're getting
  • Replace the media once it's changed colour - exhausted media stops working even if it looks fine
