Overview
Cleaning organic waste out of the water column before it breaks down into nitrate and phosphate is one of the most important jobs any reef system does, and it starts with a decent protein skimmer. The Bubble Magus Curve 3 Extreme packs genuinely capable skimming into a compact, wine-bottle-shaped body that fits neatly into tighter sump spaces.
It's built around an upgraded, more efficient pump than earlier Curve models, giving quieter, more energy-efficient operation without sacrificing skimming power.

Setup & tips
- Maintain the recommended water level in your sump - skimmer performance is very sensitive to this
- Clean the collection cup and needle-wheel impeller regularly to maintain peak performance
- Allow a short break-in period, as foam production typically improves over the first couple of weeks
- Adjust the water outlet valve gradually rather than in large steps when dialling in your ideal skim
