Overview
Every reef tank goes through an "ugly stage" after the initial cycle - a period where organic buildup on rock, glass and decorations makes everything look duller than it should. Brightwell Aquatics MicroBacter Clean tackles this directly, using a blend of non-pathogenic microbes and enzymes to break down that buildup and reduce the underlying nutrients feeding it.
Rather than just masking the problem, it works on the organic material itself - loosening coatings so they're easier to remove, while also chipping away at ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and phosphate levels over time.

Setup & tips
- Shake well before use - clumping and an earthy smell are normal and are a sign the bacteria are active
- Turn off protein skimming and UV sterilisation for a few hours after dosing to give the bacteria a chance to establish
- Results build gradually - allow 8 to 10 weeks in a long-neglected system before judging effectiveness
- Keep up regular maintenance such as vacuuming and using purified top-up water alongside dosing for the best results
