Overview

Fish jumping out of an open-top tank is one of the more heartbreaking losses in the hobby, but a lot of covers are bulky, cloud the water's clarity, or block equipment mounted on the rim. Red Sea's Aquarium Net Cover solves this with an extra-thin, transparent mesh in a slim aluminium frame, built to be customised around your specific equipment layout.

At 180cm x 80cm, this size suits larger display tanks where a single, well-fitted cover is far tidier than improvising with multiple smaller panels.

Key features
  • Extra-thin, transparent mesh netting that barely affects light penetration, PAR or shimmer
  • Strong, lightweight aluminium frame that won't rust or degrade over time
  • Fully customisable - cut and configure around rim-mounted equipment such as lighting arms, overflow boxes and auto-feeders
  • Suits both in-rim and on-rim mounting, including rimless tank setups
  • Includes a spline roller for fitting the netting into the frame
Who it's for

Owners of larger open-top tanks - around 180cm - who want to stop fish jumping without sacrificing light quality or blocking access to rim-mounted gear.

Setup & tips
  • Plan your equipment layout before cutting the frame, so cut-outs line up with lighting arms, overflows and other rim-mounted gear
  • Use the included spline roller to seat the netting evenly into the frame channel for a clean, taut finish
  • Check hangers and mounting tabs are secure after fitting, especially around any custom cut-outs
  • Give the frame and mesh an occasional wipe-down, since salt creep can build up on the fine mesh over time
