Overview

A heater sitting inside the display is one more piece of visible equipment competing with your aquascape - and one more thing that can crack if a curious fish or a careless scraper gets too close. The Aquael Flow Heater solves both problems by mounting externally, in-line on your filter's outlet hose, so all the heating happens outside the tank entirely.

It's built with a Smart Heating System that adjusts power to match your tank's needs, rather than running at full output constantly.

Key features
  • Mounts externally on the outlet hose of a canister filter, freeing up space inside the tank
  • Smart Heating System (SHS) adjusts power output automatically to reduce temperature swings and save energy
  • High-precision electronic thermostat with an LED display showing both set and current temperature
  • Automatic shutoff if water flow stops, protecting against dry-running and overheating
  • Suits fresh or marine systems, compatible with standard 16/22mm or 19/25mm filter hoses
Who it's for

Reef keepers running a canister filter or external pump loop who want heating handled outside the display, keeping the tank itself free of visible equipment.

Setup & tips
  • Install vertically as directed - mounting it horizontally can trap air inside and cause inaccurate readings
  • Fit it on the outlet side of your filter so heated water is pushed evenly through the return flow
  • Match the hose diameter to your filter's outlet before ordering fittings
  • Keep a backup heater on hand for any critical system, as with any single heating unit
